Collaborating with KEY Project’s Living Library
In June 2024, KEY Project’s Living Library launched its inaugural Digital Storytellers of Koʻolau cohort, co-created and facilitated with Kaheāwai Media.
The four-month program gathered together 14 storytellers from Koʻolau and other regions across Oʻahu, in addition to expert media practitioners from Oʻahu, Moku o Keawe (Hawaiʻi Island) and as far as Borikén (Puerto Rico).
Cohort members learned from our facilitators, practitioners and each other about topics like oral storytelling, trauma-informed journalism, documentary film and podcast production, and culturally rooted brand storytelling.
The program concluded with an invite-only hōʻike where cohort members had an opportunity to share their unfolding storytelling projects with trusted audiences.
