Creating journalism with kiaʻi

Before Kaheāwai Media started any storytelling projects, we spent time listening to trusted community members about issues they see in Hawaiʻi’s media ecosystem and how those impact their communities.

But more importantly, this guide elevates community-identified solutions for how media practitioners can do better. While these contributors don’t speak for their entire communities, several clear themes emerged, and we hope these illuminate paths forward, both for us and any other media practitioners who care about our ʻāina and our communities.
